EXPERIENCED TECH USES NEW AIR-HAMMER POWERED FUEL INJECTOR REMOVAL KIT TO QUICKLY POP FORD 6.7L POWER STROKE INJECTORS
With more than 45 years of experience as a technician, Brian Dull has pulled more than his fair share of stubborn fuel injectors. When he had a 2017 Ford F-250 come into the shop with a bad high pressure fuel pump, he knew he would have to remove the 6.7L Power Stroke’s stuck fuel injector first.
It was time to test out his new ProMAXX Tool Ford 6.7L Power Stroke air hammer-powered Fuel Injector Puller (PMXPWP200PROP). A GM 6.6L Duramax version is also available (PMXPWP220PROP).
“Ford has its own version of a fuel injector puller, but the ProMAXX one works faster and better,” Brian said. “After taking everything apart to get at it, the Ford puller takes at least 10 minutes to set up and up to a half hour to get a stuck injector out.”
It is the fastest…“Using the ProMAXX puller, you don’t have to fasten a 10-milimeter bolt in the mounting hole,” Brian said. “I slipped the lift kit on tight and popped out the injector in less than five minutes.”
The ProMAXX fuel injector puller lift kit does not require unnecessary time bolting and unbolting from the cylinder head. It is precision machined to fit the injector and not cast. The snug fit prevents walking off the injector and lost pulling power.
Most importantly, the 11-inch air hammer powered punch uses the force and vibration of an air hammer to concentrate pulling power. No back-and-forth motion is required. A powerful slide hammer is also included in the ProKit and ProKit Plus versions.
“I was able to mount the lift kit and sneak in through the wheel well to quickly pull it out,” Brian said. “If you don’t use the right tool, you can damage the injector. This is the right tool, and I’d recommend it to other techs to help them beat book times.”
